Detailed Comparison: BISSELL SpotClean Pro (3624) vs. SpotBot Pet (2117A) vs. Little Green (1400B)
Let us see how these three portable carpet cleaning machines fare against each other in terms of performance, ease of use, ease of maintenance, portability, versatility, customer reviews, and pros and cons. In the end, the final overview will help you decide the winner.
Performance
SpotClean Pro’s performance is unquestionable. Its 5.7 amps (~684 Watts) motor delivers powerful suction, capable of weeding out fresh as well as set-in stains. The 3-inch tough stain tool and the 6-inch stair tool cover all types of surfaces, whether carpets, rugs, or upholstery.
SpotBot Pet, on the other hand, is a mini, automated version of SpotClean Pro. It’s driven by a 3 amps (~360 Watts) motor and functions in three modes – fresh clean, deep clean, and hose/tool. It also comes with a 3-inch tough stain tool, in case you want to use it for better hands-on cleaning.
Little Green is an entry-level portable carpet cleaner from BISSELL, powered by a 3 amps (~360 Watts) motor that delivers impressive suction. It’s suitable for everyday cleaning, not perfect for proper deep cleaning, though. It’s also equipped with a 3-inch tough stain tool for effective spot cleaning.
My Verdict: SpotClean Pro wins here. Little Green is worth the price it’s available at.
Ease of Use
SpotClean Pro works like just another portable carpet shampooer – filling the clean water tank, spraying, scrubbing, and pulling up the filth. It’s easy to handle the machine, thanks to the 22-feet long cord and 5-feet long hose. Large tank capacities (96 ounces) ensure you don’t waste time filling and emptying tanks.
SpotBot Pet is designed to render convenience to the users. The hands-free, automated functioning takes care of spraying, scrubbing, and sucking up the grime, while you relax or devote time to other tasks; just fill in the clean water and solution and place the scrubber over the stain. That’s it! And if you need more control, switch to the hose/tool mode. Limited tank capacities and a shorter cord (16-feet) are limiting factors, though.
Little Green is a small, powerful machine, easy to use and handle. Simply fill in the water and solution in the 48-oz capacity tank, uncoil the hose (4 feet) and the cord (15 feet), and use the 3-inch tough stain tool to remove the stubborn spot stains. It’s handy if you have the power outlet nearby because the cord is not long enough to cover a large area.
My Verdict: SpotBot Pet wins for its hands-free functioning.
Ease of Maintenance
Keeping SpotClean Pro in its top-notch condition is fairly easy. Just ensure proper cleaning of the dirty water tank, hose, and tools. For example, use hot clean water in a vessel and let the tool suck it up, cleaning the complete passage in the process. There’s one issue with SpotClean Pro. When you wrap the hose around the hinges, it experiences stress over the period, thus making it prone to damage at the point where it attaches to the tool.
So if you want the hose to last longer, don’t wrap it completely. And in case of any other issues, you can always avail the 2-year warranty provided by BISSELL.
SpotBot Pet is also easy to maintain (no hose breakage issue here!). To clean the 360-degree spiral brush, simply dip it in warm detergent solution for some time, and then clean it thoroughly. To clean the tool and the hose, follow the procedure outlined for SpotClean Pro. BISSELL provides a 2-year warranty on this spot cleaner as well.
Again, follow the same procedure to clean the Little Green spot cleaner machine. However, you must go the extra mile to clean the dirty water tank and the lining between the nozzle outlet and the tank. This is important to avoid the stinky odor buildup. Strangely, BISSELL offers only a 1-year warranty on Little Green.
My Verdict: Tie between SpotClean Pro and SpotBot Pet.
Portability
SpotClean Pro weighs around 13.25 lbs, light enough to lift-and-carry with ease. However, with a completely-filled solution tank, it may be heavy for some (like the elderly) in situations where you need to carry it up and downstairs. The compact size facilitates comfortable storage even in confined spaces, whether it’s a cupboard shelf or a car trunk.
SpotBot Pet is lighter (weighs 12.50 lbs) but almost the same size as the SpotClean Pro. So while carrying it is not an issue, storing it can be a little difficult (not much of a problem, though).
Little Green is the lightest (9.65 lbs) and the most compact amongst the three. Therefore, it’s an ideal spot cleaner suitable for everyone, concerning size and weight. However, it’s also the widest; keep this factor in consideration.
My Verdict: Little Green wins here.
Versatility
SpotClean Pro is truly a versatile spot carpet cleaner, capable of tackling all types of stains, whether pet messes, food and beverage spills, oil or grease marks, makeup goof ups, grass marks, and others. The powerful suction is capable of weeding out fresh and set-in stains from all types of surfaces – carpets, rugs, upholstery, stairs, hallways, pet beds, and car interiors.
The automated mode in SpotBot Pet is specifically designed for tackling pet stains without any human intervention. However, it’s suitable for other types of stains as well, since you get a 3-inch tough stain tool with it. But still, the suction is not as strong as in SpotClean Pro.
Little Green is also a versatile spot cleaner, just like SpotClean Pro. It works great despite the fact it’s driven by a 3 amps motor. Although it may successfully remove most of the stains, some deeply embedded stains may not disappear completely. So for everyday messes, you can definitely opt Little Green (after all it’s so affordable!).
My Verdict: SpotClean Pro wins, but you can also consider Little Green if budget is a constraint.
Customer Reviews
SpotClean Pro is the favorite of the majority of the users (some also prefer SpotClean Pet Pro). They praise its performance, ease of use, versatility, and compact, portable build. Besides the hose breakage problem, there’s no other drawback in this immensely successful appliance. So check it out now.
SpotBot Pet is the choice of users who are more inclined towards convenience; for example, users who don’t want to fight pet messes after a hectic day, simply use SpotBot Pet in the hands-free mode. A few users point out the formation of circle marks due to spiral cleaning, but you can clean them using the 3-inch tough stain tool.
Little Green is perfect for those who prefer powerful performance, versatility, portability, ease of use at an affordable price. If you don’t want to buy SpotClean Pro, Little Green should be your go-to appliance. Cleaning it after a spot cleaning session can be cumbersome (not a major issue, though).
My Verdict: All score equally when we look at the customer reviews.
