Performance
Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 is a battery-powered appliance, driven by a 4,000 mAh (21.6V) battery that delivers a run time of around 35 minutes in the AUTO mode and 25 minutes in the MAX mode. In the AUTO mode, the iLoop® Sensor technology adjusts power and solution according to the degree of messiness on the floor. The MAX mode throttles the 220W motor, delivering maximum power to remove the most stubborn stains. The FLOOR ONE S3 is perfect for hard floor cleaning but doesn’t work on carpets and rugs.
BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max comes to your rescue for multi-floor cleaning. The battery-powered appliance driven by a 36V Li-ion battery delivers a run time of approximately 30 minutes. It features two cleaning modes – Hard Floor mode for hard floors and Area Rug mode for rugs and carpets. The Cordless Max covers edges, thereby helping you clean efficiently. The suction is powerful, equivalent to what you get in the FLOOR ONE S3.
My Verdict: If you are looking for a multi-surface vacmop, go ahead with BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max. And if hard floor cleaning is a priority, Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 is the best.
Ease of Use
Both of these smart appliances are designed to render maximum convenience to the users. FLOOR ONE S3 and Cordless Max share a lot of common features that enhance ease of use. These include cordless functioning, a swiveling head, two-tank technology, one-click self-cleaning technology, mobile app integration, dock station charging and storage, and more.
Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 goes a step further as it voices commands whenever there’s a problem, like low battery or the brush roller blockage, for example. If not a fan of voice commands, simply keep a check on indicators on the LED display. Further, you can check on performance parameters from the Tineco app on your smartphone. Switching between cleaning modes just takes a 3-second press on the button. However, CWT capacity (0.6L) is average which may empty faster in the MAX mode.
BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max doesn’t have a voice command feature, but the LED display shows prominent indicators like DWT full, the cleaning mode, and battery status. It also connects to the BISSELL Connect app and Amazon Dash Replenishment. Hence, you can keep a check on your machine and also set up automatic orders on Amazon. Here also, there’s a single button to switch between cleaning modes. Efficient edge cleaning is a big plus. CWT capacity (0.83L) is also a bit higher here.
My Verdict: It’s a tie.
Ease of Maintenance
There are three core aspects in ease of maintenance concerning these two smart vacuum mops – cleaning components, self-cleaning, and warranty.
After every hard floor/rug cleaning session, you’ll have to thoroughly clean all components including DWT, floater, filter, brush roll, brush roll cover, chamber, and nozzle. In FLOOR ONE S3, wipe the filth accumulated on the sensor (placed below the DWT). In Cordless Max, you’ll have to rinse and clean the pet strainer as well, placed inside the DWT for trapping pet hair and other messes.
Self-cleaning technology is present in both appliances. Just place the units on the 3-in-1 docking station, plug in the charging cord, fill CWT with clean water, and press the self-cleaning button to activate the process. At last, empty and rinse the DWT. The self-cleaning procedure works if you’ve used the vacuum mops for regular floor cleaning. But in case of heavy messes, consider thorough cleaning of components, and not just self-cleaning.
Lastly, both Tineco and BISSELL offer a 2-year warranty on FLOOR ONE S3 and CrossWave Cordless Max, respectively.
My Verdict: It’s a tie, again.
Portability
Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 weighs around 9.9 lbs, making it one of the lightest vacuum mops for your hard floors. You can carry it upstairs or downstairs with ease. There’s no carry handle on the unit, though. You’ll have to hold it from the stem. The compact design also favors ease of storage. And as there’s the 3-in-1 docking station, you know where to keep it after every cleaning session.
At 11.5 lbs, BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is slightly heavier than the FLOOR ONE S3. However, it doesn’t make much of a difference when it comes to portability. Hence, you can carry it comfortably inside your home and to your shop or office. There’s a carry handle on top that facilitates a firm grip. It also flaunts a compact, stylish body that fits comfortably on the 3-in-1 docking station.
My Verdict: Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 wins for its lightweight body and compact design.
Versatility
Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 is a dedicated hard floor cleaner suitable for surfaces like laminate, linoleum, vinyl, hardwood, engineered wood, marble, stone, concrete, and tile. The machine and the deodorizing & cleaning solution do a fantastic job of eliminating fresh and old stains of all types, whether solids or liquids. However, when fighting tough stains, use the appliance in the MAX mode for best results.
BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max trumps over FLOOR ONE S3 in this segment as it’s capable of cleaning both hard floors and rugs. For best results, you can use the multi-surface formula that comes with the purchase or order any other cleaning solution of your choice. Note that although Cordless Max works on area rugs, it’s not suitable for deep cleaning. For this, you must consider a full-sized carpet cleaner, perfect for carpet and rug cleaning.
My Verdict: For hard floor cleaning, FLOOR ONE S3 is the winner. Overall, BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is the winner.
Customer Reviews
The users shower praises on Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 for its terrific capability to clean hard floors, ease of use, ease of maintenance, compact and lightweight design, sufficient running time, and smart functioning. Some users say that one full charge is enough for an area up to 600 square feet, but for a larger area, you again need to wait 4 hours (time required for a full charge). Lastly, you’ll have to self-clean it frequently if you want the best performance output every time you use it.
BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is a favorite of many customers because of its powerful cleaning, multi-surface compatibility, special emphasis on pet stains, sturdy build, long-lasting battery, ease of use, and ease of maintenance. The downsides include a high price tag and average performance when it comes to deep cleaning of rugs and carpets.
My Verdict: Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 wins for its massive fan following. However, BISSELL has its following of ardent believers.
