Performance
BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One is an entry-level wet/dry vacuum mop driven by a 4.4 amps (~528 Watts) motor, delivering enough suction to pull messes off hard floors and area rugs (however, not suitable for deep cleaning rugs and carpets). The microfiber and nylon brush roll does a commendable job of mopping the floors and picking up debris at the same time. You get two modes here – Hard Floor mode for cleaning hard floors and Area Rug mode for washing area rugs.
BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro is a customized version of the All-in-One, designed to tackle pet stains found on hard floors and area rugs. It features the same 4.4 amps (~528 Watts) motor and the same Hard Floor and Area Rug modes. Here, you get a multi-surface tangle-free brush roll that picks up pet hair but doesn’t let the hair clog onto the surface, thereby preventing tangling. The cleaning path width of 12.5-inches in Pet Pro and All-in-One is sufficient. However, both the appliances are less efficient at cleaning edges.
BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is a battery-powered appliance, driven by a rechargeable 36V Li-ion battery that delivers a run-time of around 30 minutes. The suction is great and the noise level is also low. Here you get three modes – Hard Floor, Area Rug, and the Self-Clean. We’ll talk about the third one in the Ease of Maintenance section. To operate the first two, there’s a single control on the upper handle that you need to press whenever you want to switch the mode. It features a 10.5-inch cleaning path width. The sleek casing at the foot of the machine ensures improved edge cleaning that’s absent in the first two CrossWave variants.
My Verdict: It’s a tie between CrossWave Pet Pro and the Cordless Max. If edge cleaning is an important aspect, then Cordless Max is the winner for you.
Ease of Use
BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One saves your time and effort because it vacuums and mops your rugs and hard floors in one go. Moreover, you can operate it continuously because it’s a corded appliance featuring a 25-feet cord. But you may find it a little difficult to use because of some reasons. First, you need to clean brush roll quite often if you have pets at home. Secondly, average tank capacities will not last much, especially in the Area Rug mode that uses twice the solution required in the Hard Floor mode.
The All-in-One and the CrossWave Pet Pro are very similar – same mechanism, same tank capacities, same cord length, and same cleaning modes. However, it’s a little easier to use the Pet Pro mainly because of two reasons. First, the tangle-free brush roll prevents hair build-up during operations. Second, the hair strainer in the dirty water tank collects all hair and solid filth, thereby allowing you to discard dirty water without clogging the sink.
BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max trumps over both All-in-One and Pet Pro when it comes to ease of use. The biggest factors are the cordless functioning that eliminates the need to tangle with the cord and the LED display that conveys important information. Second, you can use the BISSELL Connect app to monitor Max usage, manage refills (via Amazon Dash), schedule maintenance, and more. Third, the Self-Clean mode cleans the inside components automatically with a press of a button. You just need to place the vacmop on the 3-in-1 docking station. Lastly, here also you get tangle-free brush rolls and hair strainer in the DWT.
My Verdict: BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is the clear winner. One common aspect amongst all three is making more wet and dry passes when cleaning area rugs. The process can be cumbersome and time-consuming. On a positive note, the swiveling head makes it easier to maneuver these machines.
Ease of Maintenance
Note: Cleaning vacmops is certainly a hassle. But after every vacuuming and mopping session, it’s important to clean the appliance inside out. If you don’t, the residue may damage components and may also cause bad odor and harmful bacteria and mold buildup.
Let’s begin with the assembly of BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One. It’s all about inserting the handle into the body and placing the clean water tank in the designated slot. That’s all. About maintenance, you’ll have to empty the dirty water tank when indicated by a high-pitch sound. Pull out the tank, remove the filter and the floater, rinse them and the tank, and place them back after cleaning the inside area where the DWT sits. Then you have to wash the brush roll cover, brush roll, and wipe the chamber. Once done, you’ll have to place the machine on the rinse & clean out storage tray, pour water in the tray, and press the Hard Floor mode to initiate the self-cleaning process. BISSELL offers a 2-year warranty on the appliance, a standard in the segment.
For BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro, the assembly and maintenance procedures are exactly the same as for CrossWave All-in-One. There are a few variations though. First, the tangle-free brush roll is easier to clean. Second, the hair strainer in the DWT is a boon since it collects all hair and debris. Third, using the rinse cup and rinse funnel again streamlines the self-cleaning process of the appliance. Lastly, BISSELL offers a 3-year warranty on Pet Pro, a big positive.
Now the assembly and maintenance procedures for BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max are 90 percent similar to those of the Pet Pro. There are two major add-ons here. First, the LED display tells you when you need to empty DWT, recharge the battery, the cleaning mode the machine is in, and whether your appliance is connected to the WiFi or not. Second, the 3-in-1 docking station lets you store, self-clean, and charge the appliance, thereby adding to your convenience. BISSELL offers a 2-year warranty on the appliance.
My Verdict: BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max would have been a clear winner but Pet Pro leaped with its 3-year warranty. Hence, it’s a tie between these two.
Portability
Carrying any of these three CrossWave vacuum mops shouldn’t be a problem because they weigh around 11.5 lbs with empty water tanks. However, for some – like elderly and specially-abled – it can be a problem. A sturdy carry handle ensures a firm grip. In BISSELL CrossWave Cordless, it’s placed on the backside. Use it to carry comfortably upstairs, downstairs, and around the house, shop, or office.
These appliances are compact but still, you need sufficient space to store them, especially for the CrossWave All-in-One and the Pet Pro. It’s because, during self-cleaning, you need to tilt these two so that the brush roll can rotate (brush roll doesn’t rotate when the handle is in vertical position. You need to push the foot paddle to incline the machine and start the process). The Cordless Max functions effortlessly without the need to incline.
My Verdict: BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max wins by a slight margin.
Versatility
All three variants of BISSELL CrossWave are suitable for hard floors like laminate, linoleum, vinyl, solid & engineered wood, marble, stone, concrete, tile & grout, and others. Further, these are suitable for area rugs as well. They are fine for regular cleaning but not deep cleaning of carpets and rugs. For that, you need powerful and versatile carpet cleaners.
Talking about types of stains these vacmops can tackle; use these for removing pet messes & hair, food & beverages, grease, makeup, dirt, grime, mud, mold/fungus. CrossWave Pet Pro and Cordless Max are perfect for pet stains.
One important note: use a suitable formula if you want to witness the best results. For example, multi-surface pet with Febreze formula for pet stains on hard floors and area rugs, wood floor formula for restoring natural wood shine, hard floor formula for peculiar hard floor stains, and so on.
Lastly, remember area rugs need twice the amount of solution required for hard floors. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are two lines of marking on the CWTs of these CrossWave’s. Fill water (max 60°C/140°F) and formula up to the lower marking for a 350 square feet area and fill up to the upper marking for a 700 square feet area.
My Verdict: A tie between CrossWave Pet Pro and CrossWave Cordless Max.
Customer Reviews
Users praise BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One for its versatile and powerful performance, ease of use, and affordable price tag. For tackling everyday messes, except for pet stains, this wet/dry vacuum mop is a blessing for many. Some users complain about how tiring it is to clean the machine after vacmop sessions and the excessive amount of solution it uses in the Area Rug mode. You may witness tangles and clogging in the brush roll and DWT respectively if you use All-in-One for pet messes.
CrossWave Pet Pro tackles pet stains really well. And this is the reason why pet owners prefer Pet Pro over All-in-One. Users also love Pet Pro for its sleek design, 3-year warranty, powerful suction, and versatile performance. However, many users complain about the grueling after-cleanups.
For cordless wet/dry vacuum mops, BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is a choice for many users. They praise it for its aesthetic design, cordless functioning, impressive suction, self-cleaning abilities, and the convenience it provides. However, few people wish if the run time could be more than 30 minutes because the time is enough for a 1200-1400 square feet apartment but not beyond that. Secondly, it’s way expensive than the rest.
My Verdict: BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro wins here.
